On May 28th, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital began vaccinating medical students of the new medical program, the Chulalongkorn International Medical Program by the Faculty of Medicine (CU-MEDi).
Nijasri Charnnarong Suwanwela, MD, Director of CU-MEDi, visited the student vaccination clinic along with other faculty members to warmly welcome her soon-to-be first-year medical students. Dr. Suwanwela hoped to instill confidence in the vaccine’s safety and encouraged students to get vaccinated. To date, most CU-MEDi students received the vaccine along with 300-plus Thai medical students. All of the remaining medical students will have the opportunity to be vaccinated in the coming weeks, as more student vaccination clinics are scheduled. The vaccination of medical students will significantly reduce their risks of infection with deadly COVID-19 virus and slow the spreading of this virus in our communities. The medical students at Chulalongkorn University are a crucial part of the team at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, therefore it is vital for us to vaccinate these future physicians now.
